This month we’ll be introducing you to the gentle art of Zentangle, combined with some optional doodling and colouring. Zentangling can create an almost meditative state and colouring and doodling is well known for helping relieve stress and helping you relax! We will be guided by the very talented Linda Andrews who is a bit of an expert Zentangler and amongst many other things, has worked as a demonstrator for Derwent art products and created some amazing works of art and portraits using coloured pencils/pastels and other media. We’ll be giving you some ideas of patterns to try, as well as giving you the freedom to do your own thing and the option to colour in your own art or some samples we’ll provide. Looking forward to seeing the end result which could be made into a greetings card or framed, but the beauty of this activity is that the pleasure gained from doing it is reward in itself!
If you have any of the following, please bring them along. We will have spares of most things and materials to share so don’t buy things especially. We hope also to have some quality drawing pens that you can buy at a discounted price to take away, plus of course a lovely raffle prize, so don’t forget your pennies!
Pencil/pencil sharpener/rubber/ruler/scissors
Drawing pens/ fine and or thicker (but not thick marker pens) even biros can be used, but a range of thicknesses can make an effective image
Coloured pencils
Clipboard or A4 sized book to rest on if the meeting is busy (just
in case!)
Any examples of zentangling/doodling/colouring or drawing you’d
like to share!
